***Update 5/1/16****** Registration will
close this Friday May 6th. On May 7th-8th the TW staff will
assign teams based on registered players and each player will
receive via email a schedule for the team they are assigned to the
week of May 9th, likely around May 11th. Still planning to
run the U16's/U15's on Saturday May 14th only and the U18's on
Sunday May 15th only.
***Update 4/13/16****** 14U tryouts are being moved
from May 27th-29th to May 14th-15th.
16U tryouts are being planned for only May 14th and the
18U tryouts for only May 15th. This means no hotel stay for
anyone except possibly goalies attending the May 13th tryout.
Registration numbers may require changes but last year this worked
well so plans are to repeat.
TW U16 & Appleton HS Trenton Bliss commits to UW Madison
TW would like to congratulate Trenton Bliss on securing a D1
commitment from Univ of Wisconsin Madison. Trenton has been a
role model on his high school team by experiencing everything High
School hockey has to offer, on and off the ice. Trenton is
the perfect example of why High School Hockey and TW are the right
fit for many elite athletes in our state. Trenton is part of
the USHL Green Bay Gamblers association and plans to play with them
prior to starting at Wisconsin.
TW Tryouts are Complete for the 2015-16 Season
TW tryouts for the 2015-16 season are complete. All Players have
been contacted and have acknowledged. Rosters will be posted
on the website once finalized. We will have movement of
players with USHL call ups and injuries. We will email info
to those attending our final camp but not selected to a team
concerning placement on their local WEHL team by June

Why play High School Hockey
Great article on NHL players and their Minn High School
Experience. College Coaches are taking note and prioritizing
Team Wisconsin games and players as part of their fall and spring
recruitment, many of the TW/Wisc HS players are moving on to
College and some to the NHL. I'm sure if you ask them we
would hear similar experiences as our neighbors to the west.
Team Wisconsin U18 names Tim Smith as Head Coach for 2015-2016.
“Team Wisconsin U18 will be led by Tim
Smith in 2015-2016. Coach Smith replaces Wes Bolin, as
we look to continue build a consistent and successful U18
program. Tim brings a fresh vision and mirrors our philosophy
on player development within the Team Wisconsin structure.
Coach Smith recently finished his playing career at
Minnesota-Duluth, one of the most well respected division 1
programs in the country. Coach is excited to give back to the
game and help further Wisconsin hockey player development”

reasons. First and foremost, he is a recent player that
understands the current trends in the game. Team Wisconsin,
from an organizational perspective, needs all of our teams to align

and develop players is our primary goal at Team
Wisconsin. Team Wisconsin believes that Coach Smith has
the ability to do those things while driving team success in a very

Coach Smith has a strong playing background in the game and his
development path took him in several directions as a player.
Coach Smith is a 2008 graduate of Superior High School and a four
year letter winner at SHS. Coach Smith also played for Team
Wisconsin U16 and U18 programs during his time at SHS. Coach
Smith recently completed his playing career at the University of
University of Minnesota-Duluth (2011-2014)

TW Alumni & Fond du Lac HS Michael Wilson commits to West Point
TW would like to congratulate TW & FDL HS Alumni Michael
Wilson on securing a home for school and hockey at West
Point. I have seen numerous young men go thru the WEHL and TW
over the last 10 years. I was lucky enough to spend time with
Michael and his parents over some of those years. Mr &
Mrs Wilson raised a very honorable and respectable young man, kudos
to both of you. "I'm thrilled to see Michael not only secure
a college and hockey opportunity but as a veteran I'm honored that

TW Alumni & Ashwaubenon HS Ryan Wischow commits to St Lawrence Univ
TW would like to congratulate Ryan Wischow on securing a D1
commitment from St Lawrence University. Ryan was a key to
anchoring TW U18 in the net last year helping TW U18's earn a 3rd
place finish at Nationals. Ryan is currenlty playing with the
NAHL Michigan Warriors.
TW Alumni & Superior HS Aaron Miller commits to Bemidji
TW would like to congratulate Aaron Miller on securing a D1
commitment from Bemidji. Aaron was a huge asset to the
success of TW the year prior and helped TW U18's earn a 3rd place
finish at Nationals. Aaron is currenlty playing with the NAHL
TW 16U back to Nationals
TW 16U boys went 1-0-2 in pool play showing that Wisconsin grass
roots can play with the top teams in the country., this advanced
them out of pool play to the final 8 in the country at Tier
1. Omaha proved a tough foe and took the victory 3-0 over
TW. Great showing and performance by TW 16U Boys, very proud
of the players, coaches and parents.
TW 16U boys have received and accepted a spot in the USA Hockey
National Tournament being held in Amherst NY March 26th-30th.
For Team Wisconsin this is back to back appearances in the biggest
16U exposure tournament held in the US.
USA Hockey 2015 NTDP taps into TW 16U Boys.
USA Hockey has released their National Development Program
invitees which includes two Wisconsin players, both are current TW
16U Boys/WIAA players. Congrats to TW 16U & Stevens Point
High School Brock Caufield and TW 16U & Madison West High
School Mick Messner. Best of luck to these young men at the
tryout. Brock is currently committed to Ohio State and Mick
is committed to Wisconsin.
TW 14U & 16U Boys Tier 1 2015 State Champions
Congrats to the TW 14U & 16U Boys on winning the WAHA 2015
Tier 1 State Tournament and moving on to Central Districts.
TW Elite Prep notched a 4-0 win over the Mil Jr Ads 15U to
start out the weekend, TW 18U went 1-1 on the weekend.
Combined the 4 Boys TW teams went 7-1-1 on the weekend.
Luke Strand returns to his TW roots and calls up TW U18 Anthony Stillwell to USHL Caps
TW would like to wish Tony (TW U18 and Notre Dame High School)
the best of luck as he moves on to the next stage of his life and
hockey career. Tony will finish out the sping with the USHL
Caps joining many of his old TW and Notre Dame teammates under USHL
Coach Strand. Congrats and best of luck to Tony and Coach

Congratulations to TW U16 & Madison West Mick Messner on
securing a D1 commitment to UW Badgers.
TW U18 & Sheboygan Red Raider Collin Peters called up to USHL
TW would like to congratulate Collin on his call up to the USHL
in Jan 2015. Collin will finish the 2014-2015 season with the
Sioux Falls Stampede. Best of luck to Collin and one step
closer to putting on that Northern Michigan sweater you earned.

ASU & MSU. As former members of TW and Notre Dame HS we

News Release: Matthew Berkovitz drafted by NHL Anaheim Ducks
TW would like to congratulate Matthew Berkovitz (TW U18) for being
selected in 2014 NHL draft by the Anaheim Ducks. Matthew had a
difficult decision a year ago to stay and play TW/WIAA or leave
home and play in the USHL. Fortunately for Matthew, his decision to
stay and play TW helped to raise his value to the NHL Scouts.
Matthew was a cornerstone of TW U18's defensive core and his play
in the UMEL during the fall and his play in the USA Hockey National
Tournament earned Matthew these honors. Congrats and best of luck.

News Release: Senators sign forward Max McCormick to entry-level contract
TW would like to congratulate Max McCormick. Max is a former Team
Wisconsin U16 & U18, WEHL U16, Notre Dame HS and WIAA 2010
Player of the Year signs NHL contract with Ottawa.
Team Wisconsin Coaching Update 2014-2015
TW would like to congratulate Luke Strand on his new opportunity as
Head Coach and General Manager of the Madison Capitols USHL
franchise. TW fully appreciates everything he brought to our
program. Coach Strand was instrumental in player development, which
led to multiple U16s drafted in the USHL, Division 1 Scholarships
and a 2014 National Championship. As players earn their opportunity
within our program, coaches are no different. Success leads to
opportunity. Best wishes to Coach Strand on his new
TW will remain a great place for players to develop both on and off
the ice. The 2013-14 Season defines this thought process. In the
2013-14 season we had 15 players drafted in the USHL, 7 players
receive D1 commitments and 5 players make the NHL watch list.
Compare those numbers to other Tier 1 programs and you will see we
are doing things right and the WIAA + TW combination is working in
Having Coach Strand in our program allowed many of our coaches to
mentor under him this past year and understand, teach and implement
the changes in the game.
Team Wisconsin returns coaches from the 2013-14, which allows for
consistency for the 2014-15 season:

multiple Tier 1 National Titles!)
- U16 Head Coach Paul Caufield (TW 2013-14 U14 Coach and National
- U16 Assistant Coach Craig Johnson (TW 2013-14 U16 Assistant
- U15 Head Coach Bob Schroeder (TW 2013-14 U15 Prep Development
We are interviewing numerous candidates for the U18 Head Coach and
will have that position filled in the next few weeks.
Team Wisconsin provides high school hockey players an aggressive
Tier 1 schedule giving them great exposure and opportunity. TW
U14,U16 and U18 play a top five Tier 1 schedule in the country, as
determined by MyHockeyRankings.com strength of schedule
calculations. The foundation of our success is based on player
development, competition and great coaching, all of which will be a
foundation of our success going forward.

Congratulations 2013-14 Boys U16 - NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!
With goal from Tony Stillwell (Assist to Broetzman and Pelton-Byce)
in the FOURTH OVERTIME, Team Wisconsin comes away with a 2-1
victory over the Colorado Thunderbirds! Congrats to Coach Byce,
Coach Strand, Coach Johnson and all the boys on a GREAT WEEKEND
capping off a GREAT SEASON!
The TW U14 and U18 Teams also had very successful championship
The U18 squad
finished 3rd overall and the U14 boys made it to the final 8 with
their only losses against the two teams that ended up in the
championship. TW overall had 11 wins and 4 losses. That's
impressive for any organization, but for teams that split up for
four months of the season, it's extra impressive. Great job to the
all the players, TW coaches and high school coaches that helped
with the 2013-14 season!
